Navigators Capture the Banner
HIGH SCHOOL: The NP Navigators Senior Basketball team entered this season as underdogs after two challenging years. What followed, however, was a season defined by renewed energy, commitment, and a belief in what North Point athletics represents.
Through hard work, focus, and countless hours in the gym, the team steadily began to grow into something special. Just as importantly, the players embraced the North Point 5R’s, allowing those values to shape how they competed, supported one another, and represented their school throughout the season.
As the weeks progressed, trust began to build. The team learned to depend on one another and to have each other’s backs on and off the court. What started as a group of individuals gradually became a team united by belief and purpose.
By the time playoffs arrived, the Navigators had built the momentum and confidence needed to reach the Championship Banner Game against Tyndale Christian School.
The final was a true nail-biter.
The Navigators opened the game slowly, with nerves and excitement in the air. By the second quarter, however, the team found its rhythm. Their confidence grew, the energy shifted, and the competitive fire that had been building all season finally ignited. The Navigators took the lead and held it through the remainder of the game.
Tyndale battled fiercely, pushing the Navigators until the final minutes and refusing to surrender the banner easily.
In the closing four minutes, Naivgator’s team captain delivered a standout performance on both ends of the floor. His leadership, defensive intensity, and determination helped secure the victory as he refused to let the championship slip away from his teammates.
Behind this success was a dedicated coaching staff who poured their time, passion, and leadership into the program. Coach Restie, Coach Smith, and Coach Campbell went above and beyond throughout the season, demonstrating a deep commitment to both the game and their athletes. Their investment in the team—both on and off the court—made a lasting impact, serving as a powerful example of mentorship, leadership, and what it means to support student-athletes with excellence.
On Banner Night, the North Point 5R’s were on full display. The Navigators proved something important—not just that they could win, but that they could compete, grow, and succeed the right way.
What began as an underdog season has now positioned the Navigators as a program to watch.
Heading into next year, one message is clear: the underdogs have become the team everyone is now chasing.
