Mountain Day

Mountain Day

The Currie Campus halls were buzzing last Wednesday morning when our principal circled around the classrooms ringing the much anticipated Mountain Day Bell. Over 75 students ventured out to Johnson’s Canyon and where they hiked a total of 5 kilometers along a beautiful stream with waterfalls surrounded by lush forestry. Special thanks to our staff and bus drivers for keeping everyone safe on this amazing North Point Tradition. Stay tuned for the results of our Mountain Day Photo Contest!

On Thursday morning it was Richmond Campus’ turn to experience the excitement as Mr. Gibbs walked down the hall ringing the Mountain Day bell. The Gr. 3/4, Gr. 6/7/8 girls and the boys of Richmond laced up their hiking boots and hit the scenic Fullerton Trail in Kananaskis for an unforgettable Mountain Day! The 6.6 km loop, with a 250m elevation gain, rewarded us with stunning views of Moose Mountain, west down the valley and south across the Elbow River. Some groups paused for a well-earned lunch at the top, while others celebrated with a bite after the trek down at the trailhead. With sunshine overhead and team spirit on full display, we tackled every hill together and made lasting memories along the way!
