K–3 Boys at “Nature Play”
On Tuesday, May 20th, our Grade K–3 boys had a fantastic outdoor learning experience during a “Nature Play” session at the Land. The day began with excitement and wonder as the boys created “Bubble Volcanoes,” blending fun and science in a hands-on activity.
The adventure continued as students explored the concept of community. Using fabrics, ropes, pulleys, kitchen items, and other open-ended materials, the boys built imaginative spaces and worked together to meet the “needs” of their pretend communities. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to think about cooperation, Responsibility, and creativity.
Water stations added another layer of discovery, offering coloured, clear, soapy, and muddy water, along with a variety of jugs and containers. These setups allowed the boys to explore the properties of water, practice coordination, and engage in cooperative problem-solving.
This immersive session allowed the boys to learn through play, connect with nature, and develop important social and problem-solving skills. A big thank-you to Stacey at “Nature Play” who helped make the day such a meaningful experience and to some of our High School Leadership option students who lended a hand!
