Our students at all three schools are definitely passionate! The enthusiasm to share their passions was on full display, as was their interest in learning about the passion of their school mates.

We are very excited to announce that beginning in the 2026–27 school year, Currie Campus students will have a new home.  North Point University Innovation Quarter (UIQ) Campus will be located immediately north of the University of Calgary in the former STEM School space, located in the Alastair Ross Technology Building, Suite 110A & 150, 3553 31 St NW, Calgary, AB T2L 2K7. 

Navigators Senior Basketball team entered this season as underdogs after two challenging years. What followed, however, was a season defined by renewed energy, commitment, and a belief in what NP athletics represents.

Our Grade 7 and 8 boys took part in our 4th annual Debate Tournament, tackling the timely and thought-provoking resolution: Be it resolved that the government of Canada should ban access to social media for children under 16 years of age.

The Grade 2-5 boys enjoyed a fun science demonstration called Elephant Toothpaste with Mr. Nguyen!
This experiment helped students see how chemical reactions work and showed that science can be exciting and hands-on!

At North Point, our students have eagerly embraced the joy of learning once again after the Christmas break, with the gentle winter temperatures creating perfect opportunities for outdoor exploration. This week, the Grade 8 boys ventured into Nose Hill Park as part of their Outdoor Education class.

North Point’s Young Entrepreneurs Annual Business Fair returned to the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex on May 24th — and it was our biggest event yet.

North Point’s Young Entrepreneurs Annual Business Fair returned to the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex on May 24th — and it was our biggest event yet. Over 170 students set up and ran their own small businesses, showcasing an incredible range of creativity, initiative, and hard work.

K-3 Boys at “Nature Play” Our Grade K–3 boys had a fantastic outdoor learning experience during a “Nature Play” session at the Land.

The High School Garden Party was a delightful afternoon filled with laughter, sunshine, and meaningful moments between moms and their high schoolers.

North Point HIGH SCHOOL students in the STEM option class are putting their skills to the test by building squirrel sized picnic tables using kits provided by Skills Canada Alberta!

The Gr. 8 girls designed and built their own unique carnival-style game to apply their understanding of probability.

The Gr. 8 & 9 boys spent Monday and Tuesday in the mountains for a mini-retreat and Outdoor Education experience.

On Saturday, February 22nd North Point’s High School team won a bronze medal at the First Annual Calgary Regional Ethics Bowl Competition at the University of Calgary.

The Gr. 3/4 girls have been learning about forces of gravity in science. To give their lessons context and meaning, they created contraptions that would protect an egg from breaking after a more than 2 story drop.

How fitting that the planetary alignment (aka parade of planets) is happening in our own night sky, just as the Gr. 6/7 girls completed their Solar System projects.

The Gr. 8/9 girls had a hands-on glimpse of what’s to come in Science next term! They experienced dissecting sheep hearts with Mrs. Kerswill. Mr Devost popped in as well!

At North Point Schools, we believe the first step in a child’s education should set the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. We are excited to announce that applications for Kindergarten at both our School for Boys and School for Girls are now open, and we would love to welcome your child to join our nurturing and dynamic learning environment.

Who says science isn’t electrifying?! The Gr. 4/5 boys have zapped into learning about non-contact forces such as static electricity! 

From our youngest learners to our eldest scholars, students new to North Point placed their ornaments on the trees at each of our campuses as a symbol of being part of the North Point family.

The Gr. 5 boys are deeply engrossed in a novel study on Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. They are learning to think critically and give reasons to support their answers.

Our Remembrance Day Ceremony was a meaningful and respectful time of remembrance of those who have served in the past and those who continue to serve, protect and provide help in the present day.

A huge thank you to all our families who contributed to the Haunted Harvest for Hunger food drive that Mr. Gibbs’ High School Leadership students helped to organize (and pack up and deliver). With your help, we were able to collect 665.9 kg of non-perishables for the Calgary Food Bank. It took two truckloads to get everything to the food bank!

On October 17, our Gr. 10s left very, very early by bus for the all day 10Peaks Innovation Xchange Program (10PIX) at Red Deer Polytechnic. 10PIX is a free, day-long exchange for students to help them understand the vital role they can play in Alberta’s and Canada’s future.

Today the 4-7 boys from the Richmond Campus and the Girls School from the Currie Campus participated in the Annual Turkey Trot. This is not a traditional “fastest runner wins” race but rather an exercise in estimation and pacing. Each runner predicts their time at the start of the run and then the runner that is closest to their estimated time wins a turkey!

Outdoor Education and Character Development are key elements of the North Point program. Each year at the end of September, students in Grades 4-12 attend a camp outside of the city for a few days. Experience in the wilderness fosters courage, self-reliance, cooperation and resilience. As students’ mature, risk and achievement are necessities in forming their identity and confidence. Taking on challenges and overcoming adversity strengthens character.

The home front remained a bee-hive of activity while the older students were away at retreats.

Is was fantastic weather for a run out at “the Land” as students and staff symbolically ran alongside those who are courageously in a race to beat cancer, including some within our North Point family. It was a reminder to be thankful for physical health and how we can make a difference when we join together.

Our littlest learners are learning the routines of the classroom and the playground. They are learning the rules of the bus and did a great job on their first trip to North Glenmore Park! Way to go Kindergarteners!
