Today the 4-7 boys from the Richmond Campus and All Girls School, Calgary from the Currie Campus participated in the Annual Turkey Trot. This is not a traditional “fastest runner wins” race but rather an exercise in estimation and pacing. Each runner predicts their time at the start of the run and then the runner that is closest to their estimated time wins a turkey!
Last Friday, the K-3 boys ran their Turkey Trot and then spent some time playing at the Richmond Green Playground afterwards. The boys showed Resilience by completing the nearly 1km (900m) run around the course.
The winners of the turkeys are:
Gr. K-3: Caden D. guessed right on!
Gr. 4-5: Jackson W. – 3 seconds off his estimate
Gr. 6-7: Nathan Q. – 4 seconds off his estimate
Girls: Sophia A. – 1 second off her estimate
