Charles Brodeur

Charles is thrilled to begin new adventures in learning at North Point! With over 25 years of experience in education, Charles taught humanities in Grades 7-12 as well as multimedia and computer science in grades 4-8. He initiated and led several Grade 9 School-at-Sea west coast trips, led backcountry camping excursions, planned grade-wide mountain retreats, coached badminton, coached a debate team to an ADSA regional championship, and led junior high-wide debate tournaments where every student had an active part. In the 2021-22 school year, Charles supported student learning experiences in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands as a member of an international travel studies teaching team. He has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Boise State University.

Throughout his career, Charles has held multiple roles including teaching, applied research, instructional design, and instructional leadership. He led pilot projects with students and teachers to modernize instruction in areas such as blended learning, gamification, project-based learning, robotics, and programmable electronics where students create shareable products that merge digital and physical tools. Charles recently initiated and taught in a successful blended learning program with a focus on integrating collaborative in-person learning, personalized self-directed learning, and off-site/borderless experiential learning.

Charles Laudadio is excited to be joining North Point School and looks forward to meeting new students, colleagues, and families. With enthusiasm for a fresh environment, new challenges, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community, he brings a strong sense of purpose to this new chapter.

Having lived in three vibrant Canadian cities—Montreal, Vancouver, and now Calgary — Charles has a diverse background. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of British Columbia, worked in the field for several years, and later returned to UBC to complete a Bachelor of Education. His teaching career began in Abbotsford, BC, as a French Immersion teacher in science, math, and physical education. For the past 20 years, he has taught senior high math within Calgary’s private school system, taking on leadership roles such as pod leader, science and math department head, and International Travel Studies group lead. He has also been actively involved in assessment committees, a particular passion area, believing that strong assessment practices are key to uncovering the true depth of student understanding.

Outside the classroom, Charles is a dedicated coach, lifelong sports enthusiast, and proud supporter of the Montreal Canadiens. He has coached swimming, rugby, soccer, baseball, and hockey, both within schools and in the broader community. Life at home is equally active, with his wife, three children, and a large dog — managing a schedule filled with activities, practices, and games. Charles also enjoys hands-on building and repair projects, a mindset that reflects a love for math: there's always a path to a solution if one is willing to work for it.

Daniel Wensrich

Daniel Wensrich joined North Point Schools in 2025, bringing with him a passion for inclusive education and student-centered learning. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Education from Mount Royal University, graduating in 2020. Since then, he has gained valuable experience working across both private and public school districts, teaching students from Kindergarten to Grade 9. This year marks his fifth as a professional educator.

Daniel is an energetic and compassionate teacher who is committed to fostering a learning environment where students feel empowered, supported, and inspired. With a strong background in working with diverse classroom communities, Daniel consistently prioritizes inclusive, meaningful learning experiences for all. He is known for his thoughtful and creative lesson planning, his calm and empathetic presence, and his ability to encourage students to take ownership of their learning.

His teaching philosophy centers on helping students understand how they learn best and building their confidence to advocate for what they need to be successful. Daniel believes that fair and consistent boundaries, paired with a collaborative classroom culture, are key to developing lifelong learners.

Outside of the classroom, Daniel enjoys an active lifestyle filled with golf, hockey, camping, and rock climbing. These interests reflect his adventurous spirit and appreciation for balance between hard work and personal well-being.

Dave Jackson

Business Manager

Dave’s entire 40 year career as Business Manager has been in the Private School sector. He brings the whole package to North Point School. After spending 20 years as Business Manager in a private school in Vancouver and 10 years at two other Calgary private schools (Calgary French & International School and EDGE School for Athletes), Dave accepted the challenge to join an incredible team to get North Point started and grow this innovative school to its full potential.

As our Business Manager, Dave is responsible for pretty much everything that is not in the classroom, from accounting and government reporting, bussing, student safety through to purchasing, he manages it all. Dave also brings 25 years of athletic coaching experience to North Point along with years of experience with event and volunteer management.

Dave and his wife Kate Dillon enjoy travelling to different parts of the world during their vacation time. Always on the go, they have both been on every continent on this planet except for Antarctica which they hope to get to one day.

Edward Moynaugh

After growing up in Airdrie, Edward made the short move to Calgary to attend university, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and later his Bachelor of Education. During his studies, Edward volunteered at the CBE's LEAD program. Edward's previous experience includes teaching high school humanities and developing SAIT's summer camp program activities.

Edward is a strong advocate for lifelong learning and understanding the role that history plays in our daily lives. Edward enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with friends. Edward currently lives in Calgary with his wife and their cat.

Fraser Pettifor

Fraser Pettifor joined North Point School for Boys in 2022. He shares his love of learning with all of his students. Originally from Wetaskiwin Alberta,  he has been living in Calgary for the past 11 years. He has taught for 10 years, with experience in  grades K, 1, 2, 3 and 4. He gained a valuable knowledge base of teaching practices that he is excited to continue using in his classroom.

Fraser has a Bachelors of Education as an Elementary Generalist with a Psychology minor, from the University of Alberta. His classroom teaching will include student directed learning, meaning they will use inquiry based learning, self-discovery, independent and cooperative learning. He also likes to have fun in the classroom and will ensure that it is a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment. He believes not all students can excel with pen and paper tests, so projects and hands-on demonstrations of learning are a great way to make sure his students will be successful. He believes every student absorbs information in different ways. In his lessons, students will be engaged verbally, visually, musically, and kinaesthetically.

Some of Mr. Pettifor's hobbies include playing the guitar, drawing, painting, and cooking. He enjoys many outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, canoeing, golfing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and bicycle touring. He is also a big hockey fan. Being born and raised near Edmonton, he is inherently an Oilers fan, which gives him a lot of grief living in Calgary. Especially since the last battle of Alberta during the playoffs.

Fred Smith

Fred Smith recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University and is excited to channel his diverse experiences into fostering creativity and learning in the classroom. He is also a proud parent, committed to making education engaging and meaningful for every student.

Fred was born and raised in sunny California, where a passion for the arts and athletics defined much of his childhood. As the second eldest of ten siblings, Fred developed a strong sense of responsibility early on. By junior high, Fred's focus shifted towards academics, but high school reignited his love for the arts through classes like graphic design, photography, and architecture. Alongside these creative pursuits, Fred remained active in sports, playing basketball, football, and volleyball for his high school team.  

After graduating high school, Fred joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served for eight years, achieving the rank of sergeant. During his service, Fred was part of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, traveling extensively across the Mediterranean aboard the USS Iwo Jima. He gained expertise in radio repair and maintenance management, became a suicide prevention instructor, and earned certification as a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program instructor.  

Upon completing his service, Fred moved to Calgary, AB, Canada, to start a family. There, he earned a diploma in Graphic Design and launched a successful career as a graphic designer and photographer, eventually founding his own photography business, “Kallos Studio.” Inspired by fatherhood, Fred wrote and illustrated a children’s book, “My Daddy’s Legs”.

Jason Hirtle

Since graduating from St. Francis Xavier University in 1996, Jason has continued his passion for personal growth, education and coaching. Growing up in a rural Nova Scotia public school environment, having his children in the Alberta Catholic school system and then teaching in the Alberta private school sector, has enabled Jason to have a well-rounded and unique perspective on student behaviour and learning. With over 10 years of experience teaching diverse student populations from children with learning disabilities to elite athletes, Jason has strived to connect and bring his real world knowledge to the classroom.

In 2008, Jason took a 7 year hiatus from secondary education and became an award winning corporate trainer for a cutting edge health and wellness company. During this time, Jason was very active in coaching and parenting his three children Jaxon, Ava and Luke.

Jason has worked with two successful private schools in Calgary during their growth phase and immediately was excited about the unique perspective and niche that teaching at North Point would provide. As a former National Champion basketball student-athlete, Jason’s strong classroom presence and ability to lead and bond with students through sharing his life experiences, fosters the perfect Socratic learning environment for his Social and Language Arts classes.

Jason and his wife Jolie currently reside in Northwest Calgary and are active members of the Calgary Winter Club.

Jeff Masse

Jeff is an energetic, passionate, and fun teacher who instructs from the Teddy Roosevelt ideology that “Students do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care!” Through effective planning and discourse with all stakeholders, he strives to make his classrooms/school the best choice for all learners!

Jeff taught and coached for more than 26 years at Calgary Academy before coming to North Point. In this position he taught both junior and senior high school, with a focus on teaching students with learning differences. Jeff’s passion is everything mathematics and science. He has taught both subjects extensively with an emphasis on utilizing manipulatives and implementing hands-on inquiry-based projects to achieve success across all learning outcomes.

Throughout his teaching career, Jeff has strived to be at his personal best in his field, remaining current and informed of all changes necessary in honing his pedagogy.  Jeff has actively participated in numerous Professional Learning classes, including sessions with an emphasis on helping learners develop their executive functioning skills at various points in their maturation. In addition, Jeff’s PL and studies have been focused on “how to teach the hard to reach” with an emphasis on teaching students with unique learning profiles including students identified as ADHD and gifted learners.

Jeff completed his undergraduate studies in Ontario where he received honours in his BSc. degree from the University of Guelph. He also studied at the University of Windsor while earning a teacher certification at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. In 1996, Jeff moved to Alberta to teach and soon after earned his Master of Education degree at the University of Calgary, specializing in Educational Technology.

Jeff considers himself a true Albertan, having just recently moved past the point where he has lived more than half his life in Calgary! Through all endeavours, Jeff is supported by his loving family, which include his caring wife of more than 25 years, Christina, and their two amazing children, Makayla and Andrew.

Jeff is quite active in many aspects of his personal life, from travelling and hiking with his family, to being an avid golfer (always looking for tips to improve in all areas) and participating in “experienced-timers” hockey during the winter months!

Jeff loves being an active teammate in the vibrant collaborative environment with his North Point family.

Jody Anderson

Mrs. Jody Anderson joined North Point Schools in September 2022. Jody has accumulated thirteen years of experience in the classroom, teaching elementary in the Red Deer Public School District. During her time with Red Deer Public School District, Jody was the health champion at Mattie McCullough Elementary School and sat on the District Health and Wellness Committee.

Jody completed both her Bachelor of Physical Education (Sport Performance) and Bachelor of Education (Elementary) at the University of Alberta and later earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from City University of Seattle. Jody brings with her to North Point an enthusiastic energy towards teaching mixed with a passion for sport, health, and wellness.

Her preferred teaching philosophy emphasizes hands-on learning and collaborative work, with an aim to inspiring children to become lifelong learners. Additionally, she believes education should focus on students’ development in all domains, prioritizing academic, social-emotional, and physical needs, as well as character development and self-confidence. She seeks to ensure that her students are taught to develop empathetic relationships, healthy communication styles, leadership qualities, and emotional awareness, better equipping them to further their education and achieve their highest potential.

Outside of the classroom, Jody has just completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in Spring 2022. She enjoys leading an active lifestyle that includes cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, and attending spin and yoga classes. An adventure seeker by nature, Jody has completed her advanced open water diver certification and has explored marine life under the sea in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Belize. When Jody isn’t busy exploring the mountains or spending time outside in the sunshine, she enjoys reading non-fiction books and challenging herself with new recipes in the kitchen.

Keirra Alty

Miss Alty joined our North Point family in the Fall of 2023. Originally from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories she has been living in Calgary for the few years. She has taught for 6 years, with experiences in grades 1, 2 and 3. She completed a Bachelor of Art with a major in French Language and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Lethbridge. During that time, she also spent 6 months living and studying in Lyons, France. 

Miss Alty has experience teaching elementary as well as second language learners. While teaching in Yellowknife, she taught French Immersion. In addition, she has coached various school sports teams. Miss Alty enjoys the challenge of keeping her students active and engaged in and out of the classroom. Keirra believes in creating strong positive relationships with each of her students and to create opportunities for them to explore their passions. 

A highly competitive athlete, Miss Alty played soccer at the 2008 and 2012 Arctic Winter Games as well as basketball at the 2010 Arctic Winter Games. Since graduating University, Keirra spent 5 seasons coaching the U14 girls high performance basketball team in Yellowknife, as well as one season as the head coach for the U14 girls territorial futsal team. Today Miss Alty enjoys playing soccer, going to the gym, walking with her dog and cross country skiing.

Kim Campbell

Joining the North Point team feels like coming home for Kim.  She graduated from Calgary Academy and was pleased to see many of the teachers she respected are on staff at North Point.

Kim completed her education in Early Childhood Education at Mount Royal University and Bow Valley College. She also takes every opportunity to continue her education learning more about unique learners and techniques to help them.

Over the past 9 years she has had the opportunity to create a caring compassionate environment and strong relationships with the kids and their families in a private school setting. Previously she enjoyed working for 10 years in a recreation setting teaching children’s programs.

When she is not working with children, Kim has a keen interest in personal fitness and enjoys being active with friends and family, whether it's riding horses, skiing, biking or just hanging out.

Lance Humeniuk

ATHLETICS DIRECTOR

Since 2021, Mr. Humeniuk has been growing all of our North Point Athletics Programming. He has had over 25 years of experience as a physical education teacher and coach, and has also been the sports coordinator for the Calgary Independent Schools for much of his career. Mr. Humeniuk has collaborated with the City of Calgary, Sport Calgary, and many local leaders in a wide range of youth sports with a focus on designing, developing, and providing innovative solutions that encourage and provide access to better training and play. With a particular passion for finding better ways to connect kids to wellness, activity, and a positive, healthy lifestyle, Lance has received several accolades at the local, provincial and national level.

Mr. Humeniuk grew up in a very small town in Alberta. Games, sports, and outdoor activity were a cornerstone and this helped him understand how this can foster relationships and bring community together. Lance graduated in 1994 from the University of Lethbridge where he also competed with the Pronghorns Track and Field team.  Throughout his life, Lance played and also coached many sports with particular interest in volleyball, track and field, wrestling, ultimate, baseball, soccer, curling and most recently – road biking!

Along with enjoying every moment of a busy life, Lance enjoys his amazing, active family every step of the way. He and his wife, Michelle, have three wonderful boys (Hugh, William, and Oliver) and they all enjoy exploring nature, discovering new things, and just getting outside. Lance brings a positive energy to the North Point team!  Mr. Humeniuk finds ways to help student-athletes have fun while they develop in character, skill, and self-actualization, while connecting with the families, to support and foster an amazing school culture.

Les Redick

Teacher – Curriculum Specialist/Outdoor Education Leader/Medic & Research Scholar/Presenter.

Les Redick is an award-winning Alberta Education teacher who joined our team at North Point in 2017.  He is a native Calgarian with over forty years combined teaching and learning success working in a private school setting.  Les is a Junior/Senior-high core curriculum specialist, certified Outdoor Educational leader, and wilderness medic, as well as an ADHD research scholar and international speaker.

Les received his B.Ed from the University of Calgary before attaining Math Curriculum and Counseling bona fides.  He later earned a Master’s of Education in Educational Research with a focus on ADHD and Resiliency.  And, for the past decade, Les has educated parents, educators, and other working professionals in the following areas; Connecting with Kids, Classroom Management, The Science of ADHD, Executive Brain Functions, and Mentoring ADHD Students.

Mr. Redick is a perfect fit with our North Point focus on outdoor education and active living.  He has led students in Grades 7 to 12 on backcountry adventures for over twenty-five years and continues to bring his passion, experience, and expertise in sharing the outdoors with his students.  Of note, was when Les led many groups of outdoor education students to Utah to participate in canyoneering, rock climbing, mountain biking, and backcountry hiking.

Les has been married for over thirty-five years and has two adult children who graduated from the University of Calgary.

Ms. Wong brings an enthusiastic and warm presence to our front office. Her professional background spans school communities, sales leadership, and nonprofit operations, with a strong emphasis on volunteerism, advocacy, and community support.

Ms. Wong is passionate about uplifting others, helping them feel confident, and fostering environments where everyone feels seen and supported. She shares that she is truly humbled to join the North Point family, and we are thrilled to have her on our team.

Nancy Fairhead

Teacher / Literacy Specialist

Nancy has been teaching and motivating students for the last 15 years in and around Calgary. As a native Calgarian, Nancy graduated twice from the University of Calgary. Her first degree is a BA in Archaeology. With two archaeological digs under her belt, Nancy went back to school to become a teacher and graduated with her B.Ed. in the Masters of Teaching Program.

Upon graduation Nancy landed a job in the Rockyview School Division at Banded Peak in Bragg Creek where she has been teaching for the last 13 years. Over this time Nancy has taught students across grades 3-8, has coached volleyball, soccer and basketball (despite only being 5’ 3”) and led an extracurricular drama program. Nancy also helped integrate the Galileo Program into Banded Peak’s curriculum and she still strives to incorporate new technology into her lesson plans.

When not teaching Nancy can be found chasing after her own three kids. As both a Hockey and Dance Mom, Nancy also tries to squeeze in workouts and running into her busy schedule. Her happy place is in the mountains on a wake/surf board in the summer and skis in the winter.

Quaid Cunningham

Quaid is a recent graduate from the Werklund School of Education’s program at the University of Calgary, where he studied Secondary Education with a focus on English Language Arts and
History. Before the University of Calgary, he attended the University of Lethbridge for General Humanities, where he found a love for the English language. Quaid strongly believes in a model
of education that is relevant to the world and the context of students and their lives. Although early in his career, Quaid has had the opportunity to experience classrooms of all ages and has
seen how relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the community only work to enhance learning. Quaid believes that students show up as their whole selves, so using various
psychological theories and a holistic view of wellness, he seeks to ensure that all of his students’ needs are met, both in and outside of the classroom.

When not at school, Quaid can either be found in the mountains, at a new fishing spot, or whipping up something delicious in the kitchen. He grew up playing every sport available and
has recently enjoyed being on the water in his kayak. In the cold winter days, Quaid enjoys snuggling up with his foster dogs and reading cozy fantasy books, which have motivated him to
organize various Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. Quaid hopes to bring his creativity into his classroom, to ensure all of his students are not only engaged but also are excited to learn.

Scott Kostecki

Scott has been inspiring students in his math and science classrooms for over 24 years. After graduating with his Bachelor of Education from the University of Manitoba in 2000, Scott traveled to Leeds, England where he taught for 3 years and created an Education Centre inside of a Coca Cola bottling facility. Upon his return to Canada, Scott joined the Edge School for Athletes staff and spent 12 years making a difference in the lives of students, staff and parents on a daily basis.

Scott also has a passion for athletics. He was a hockey coach at Edge School where he helped lead his teams to five Midget AAA championships, in two leagues over the course of three consecutive seasons. In high school he was a competitive athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, hockey, badminton and track & field.

The positive impact Scott has had and continues to have on people that he has taught and/or mentored is immeasurable. Scott and his wife Lisa stay busy and happy raising their three wonderful children.

Stacey Bjornson

With a decade of work experience in the hospitality industry and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree under her belt, Stacey decided to pursue another of her passions—educating.

After completing her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Calgary in 2018, Stacey hit the ground running, teaching grades one and four in a Calgary Board of Education Science Program. Here, she revelled in the facilitation of exploration and learning in the natural world. As an Educator, Stacey believes strongly in a hands-on, land-based and experiential learning approach and follows a relationship first philosophy.

Stacey partially credits her childhood experience of growing up in rural Alberta for her curiosity and love of nature, as well as summers in the Kootenays camping and adventuring with her family. A proud member of the Métis Nation of Alberta, she loves learning about the vibrant culture of her ancestors. From a young age she was also influenced by her parents, who both have social work backgrounds.

Stacey is passionate about exploration in her down-time, too. When she isn’t working, she is camping, fishing, walking her boisterous dogs Obie and Russ, snowboarding, hiking, snowmobiling, or partaking in any number of other outdoor activities. Her husband, Jay, is a trained geologist and rock enthusiast—and her many adventures with him teach her more about the way boys learn every day.

Stacie Ramsay

Stacie Ramsay is excited to be joining the North Point Team for the 2025-26 school year and returning to the classroom. Originally from Toronto Ontario, Mrs. Ramsay came to Calgary to complete her teaching degree at the University of Calgary where she received her Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching with a specialty in elementary and early childhood education.  She taught with the CBE prior to taking some time off to be home with her two boys, William and Carson. The past 7 years Mrs. Ramsay has been working as an outdoor play program instructor for children aged 18 months – 12 years old. During this time, she completed extensive professional development in social emotional learning, sensory integration, child development, and the benefits of being in nature in our daily lives.  She is ready to combine her knowledge and experience with outdoor learning to create a classroom that prioritizes whole child development and meets children where they are at so that they can succeed at their own pace.

In her spare time Mrs. Ramsay is a proud hockey mom and is often found in a rink. She is heavily involved in both her boys’ teams and has loved the opportunity to experience SO many small town arenas in and around Alberta and BC. She also enjoys snowboarding, skating on her community lake, long walks with her dog, reading, spending time with her family, baking (of all kinds) and decorating cakes. 

Mrs. Ramsay is passionate about working with children and loves helping them discover all the amazing things they are capable of.

Steven Farkasdi

Born in Edmonton, Steven embarked on a transformative educational journey in Saskatoon, SK, where he pursued his studies at the University of Saskatchewan. In 2017, he earned a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in high school science and math. His thirst for knowledge led him to further his education, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2019 and a Master of Education in Educational Psychology in 2022. 

During his time in Saskatchewan, Steven engaged in a variety of neuroscientific research, employing EEG technology to explore the connections between our brains, music, and the phenomenon of synchronicity with others. Aside from scholarly pursuits, Steven is passionate about playing music, hockey, and spending time with his family in the mountains.

Joining North Point for the fall 2025 school year, Steven will be taking on high school science duties, ensuring an inclusive, respectful, and engaging space for students to succeed.
